Welcome to 6th Grade Social Studies

        My name is Mrs. Wooten and I have been a proud member of the Mayo Middle School Team since 2008. I am looking forward to working together and turning you into a "history buff" by the end of the school year! In 6th grade we will focus on geography, early humans, the ancient civilizations of Mesopotamia, Egypt, Greece, Rome, China, Central America, Africa, and Asia. I believe it is also important for students to realize early on that current events are a big part of their world. Following the news can assist in creating informed citizens who care about people all over the world. I look forward to having you in my class and together, we will have an exciting and productive year!
